I will Make CBN Stronger and Independent - Atiku

Following the exit of  two global banks in Nigeria, the UBS and HSBS, Presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar  said he would make the Central Bank of Nigeria stronger and independent. 

HSBS is said to have left as a result of its prediction, that a victory for President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 would have a negative effect on the economy.

Atiku Abubakar called the exit of the two global banks 'a sad day' for the country,  saying in a tweet, "Always a sad day for our country when such entities pack up. FDI is a key component to economic growth. My administration will attract more FDI by making the CBN stronger and independent, banish multiple exchange rates and promote market-led economy."
