Atiku Condemns Arrest of Yemi Sowore, Calls for Judicial Interventions


Nigeria former vice president Atiku Abubakar on Saturday condemned the arrest of Yemi Sowore on an allegation of treason.

The former president in a series of tweets says the arrest of the Sahara Reporters Publisher, Yemi Sowore was a kidnapping in the guise, calling on the country's judiciary to intervene.

Yemi Sowore had earlier on Saturday tweeted on organising a revolution in the country as a result of what he called insecurity, picking August 5 for the exercise.
Atiku Abubakar says, "Freedom of speech is not only constitutionally guaranteed, it is the substructure of our democracy. These kidnappings in the guise of arrests stands condemned."
