Makinde Receives Oyo TUC Leaders, Promises to Work on Demands


Leaders of the Trade Union Congress in Oyo State led by Comrade Emmanuel Ogundiran on Tuesday visited The Executive Governor of the state, Engr. Seyi Makinde at the State House, to discuss the way out as regards the new minimum wage and other welfares of the civil servants in the state

It was learnt that the TUC learders made some demands regarding workers’ welfare; minimum wage, training, better conditions of service & workforce casualisation in the private sector.

Comrade Ogundiran appealed to the state government to look into a report submitted by TUC on ways Oyo State can increase internally generated revenue.

Governor Seyi Makinde in his response says, "We are all equal stakeholders, and that we can’t have progress without industrial harmony in our state".


Added that, "The welfare of our workers in Oyo State is a priority for our admin, and we've started implementing solutions to some of the demands made. We're also working to increase our internally generated revenue to enable us fund more capital projects and pay public servants better wages.
