Ona Ara ADC Loyalists Drum Support For Hon Taiwo Micheal Akintola Second Term Bid


For the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Loyalists in Ona Ara local government of Oyo State, there is no better way to appreciate a man whom they believed has transformed the Constituency in the last three years than supporting him to continue with his good works.

It was for this reason that some ADC Party Loyalists in Ona Ara local government converged in their numbers at their federal representative office in Egbeda local government today Saturday 1, of the new month of December to endorse the Egbeda/Ona Ara federal representative, Hon Taiwo Michael Akintola for second term in office.

At the meeting which was well-attended by some party stakeholders, which includes African Democratic Congress Chairman Ona Ara local government, Hon Amusat Tawaliu Olawale, Hon Moruf Oseni, Mr Kehinde Adesina, Mr Sadiq Ramoni , Sunday Oladeji, Saheed Adeleke, Dipo Folarin, Mr Seyi, Mutiyat Jimoh, Mrs Adedokun, Mrs Funmi Orisaleye, Mr Hammed Wonderful among others, the groups said that their decision to endorse Akintola followed the good works he has done and still doing in the constituency.

In his eulogise comment, Mr Sodiq Ramoni while moving the motion for the second term endorsement of the honourable, noted that various parts of the constituency has felt the impact of infrastructure development embarked upon by the TMA administration.

“A vote for him is a vote for continuity and a support to do well in the future. We are very pleased with what Hon Taiwo Michael Akintola has done so far and would pray and work hard to ensure that he returns for second term and continues to lead Egbeda/Ona Ara federal constituency on the path of growth and sustainable development,” he said.

Seconding the motion, Mrs Funmi Orisaleye, a woman leader said the landmark strides of Hon Taiwo Michael Akintola would outlive the present generation, adding that, it marks the beginning of the solid foundation for the constituency.

Mrs Funmi said that Akintola's administration had made provisions for the youths, adding that several of them have benefitted from training programmes, elective and appointed positions that have impacted on their lives positively. “It has been good so far and should this administration continues this way, we will not have any cause to look elsewhere for leadership. Akintola has really shown that he is a leader that can take the people to the Promised Land,” he said.

The event tagged “Operation Deliver Your Polling Unit” was part of effort to sensitise the people at the grassroots about the achievements of Hon TMA and the need for them to get their permanent voter cards and get involved in the affairs of the constituency.

The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ona Ara Local government and convener of the event, Hon Amusat Tawaliu, stated that it was based on his conviction that the youths are leaders of tomorrow that she decided to engage them in interactive session about the leadership of the constituency.

Hon Tawaliu said, All the wards coordinators of different Youth Wings in our local government must be carry along. We need to engage them, carry them along and find out their problems. We cannot do without them, because of their vibrancy and roles in the society today. This meeting is also a meeting of brothers. Again, as the 2019 election is drawing nearer, we need to put our house in order to enable us come out better in the election.

Similarly, the former executive member of Egbeda local government, Hon Moruf Oseni, praised the group for the level of support they had given to the TMA since 2015, stressing that the endorsement of the honourable Akintola would further motivate them to do more for the party ADC.

“The youths of the constituency have been very supportive of the party ADC and I know that in 2019, they will not relent. I will want them to come out en masse in 2019 and vote for all candidates in our party African Democratic Congress (ADC) including our Incoming Governor Olufemi Solagbade Lanlehin. Hon Akintola has done well for Egbeda/Ona Ara. In Oyo State, ADC candidates are doing well, and it is in the character of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to do well,” he said.

Also after the meeting, the National Automobile Technicians Association, Ona Ara local government chapter ,under the chairmanship of Mr Muideen Adejare, present Award of Honour to Honourable Taiwo Michael Akintola with the chieftain titled AFIWAJOYE, in appreciation of his contributions to the growth of their association.
