The woman, 22, reportedly being molested by two men in India is now in a critical condition after she was set on fire on her way to report the molestation.
A report carries it that the woman who lives in Uttar Pradesh, was firstly molested on Saturday by a gang of two men and walked herself to a nearby police station with some other family members to report the assault was allegedly turned away by the police.
It was learnt that the two men alleged of the molestation set the woman on fire, after two days of the attack on her way to another police station to report the assult.
An activist says, "arassment of rape victims by police is not uncommon. And many cases of sexual molestation and assault in India go unreported because of police apathy as well as the stigma attached to rape.
