Our Demands Before Proposed Disengagement - Npower Beneficiaries Put FG on Conditions

The Npower beneficiaries, who are not less than 500,000 throughout the federation has demanded that the Federal Government meet up with some conditions before their proposed disengagement  from the program.

The Minister of Humanitarian and Disaster Management,  Hajia Farouq Sadiya had earlier said the batches A and B of the beneficiaries would be disengaged by the end of June and July respectively to, according to her, pave way for another 400,000 new set of beneficiaries.

The batch A beneficiaries were initially promised permanency by Buhari's administration during the presidential campaigns on 2017 General Elections, the promised that made the beneficiaries to massively vote in the current administration into power.

The beneficiaries have been protesting online and planning a nationwide protest to reject the disengagement news. One of the protests they said, would be witnessed in Abuja, where beneficiaries will storm the streets, National Assembly,  Presidential Villa and other Ministries concerned.

On Saturday,  the beneficiaries put government on conditions for their disengagement, the conditions to include:
1. Immediate release of grant (600,000 and above)this July to all enrolled Batch A&B beneficiaries' 2. Immediate release of about 80,000 beneficiaries' stipends ( March, April and May) 3. Make the transition optional to beneficiaries. Those who want grants for SMEs should be separated from those who want to be transited.

4. Sending 500,000 graduates to the street was not your promise dear minister Sadiya Umar Farouq. You came with message of hope which we want you to fulfill.
