One of the leading private universities in Nigeria, Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu-Ife has added another feather to her cap as it secured full accreditation in 4 undergraduate programmes it presented to the National Universities Commission during the NUC accreditation visitation to the institution in October/November, 2021.
According to a letter from the National Universities Commission, dated 14th April, 2022 with the reference number, NUC/ES/412/VOL.14/43, addressed to the Vice –Chancellor, Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu, with the title: RESULT OF THE OCTOBER/NOVEMBER, 2021 ACCREDITATION OF ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES IN NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES, the University was able to secure full accreditation of all the 4 programmes presented for accreditation to the Commission during its last visit to the institution.
The letter which was signed by the Director of Accreditation, Dr. Maryam Sali on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the Commission listed result of the accreditation exercise as follows:
ENGINEERING
Computer Engineering - Full
Electrical and Electronics Engineering - Full
Mechanical Engineering - Full
ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
Architecture - Full
The letter added that the full accreditation status granted the 4 programmes, is valid for a period of 5 years.
It would be recalled that Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu recorded a similar feat last year when the University got full accreditation in 10 out of the 11 programmes presented by the University while the 11th course was awarded an interim accreditation.
The courses with full accreditation status included: Public Administration, Microbiology, Physics, Economics, International Relations, Mass Communication and Political Science. Others are Industrial Chemistry, Quantity Surveying and Biochemistry while Computer Science got an interim accreditation.
Also only recently, the University emerged the 6th best private university in Nigeria and the 37th overall best university among all the federal, state and private citadels of higher learning in the country for the year 2022.
In a publication by the AD Scientific, a notable ranking system of World Universities, Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu also holds the 221st position in Africa and 5413th position among all the world universities for the year. (https://www.adscientificindex.com/university-ranking/?country_code=ng)
The Registrar of the institution, Dr (Mrs) Adeline Adeyemi while appreciating God also commended the efforts of everyone that contributed to the success.

This indeed is an attestation of hard work, particularly in the area of financial support from our founder and Chancellor, Dr Abdulrahaman Adegoke Atobatele Adedoyin, as we remain focused and promise never to relent”, she concluded.
Also while congratulating the entire University community, the Vice-Chancellor, Oduduwa University, Prof. Benjamin Segun Aribisala attributed the success to team effort blessed by God.
“This is exactly what God can do. We give Him all the glory. This is another product of team work blessed by God. Congratulations the entire Oduduwa University community.” He declared
Professor Aribisala , a hard working young Nigerian, and a leading Professor of Computer Science in November 2021, saw off stiff competition from Canada, United Kingdom, Europe and other African entries to win United States Fulbright Scholarship.
This is a flagship scholarship that allows researchers to visit the United States and conduct research for a period of time and it is specifically for scholars outside the US.
He is currently in the United States, as specified by the scholarship, to conduct more research for at least, a period of three months.
His research experience as a foremost scientist, innovation, belief in human development and leadership acumen have continued to earn him accolades all over the world.
